Meet Ken Upchurch

Ken Upchurch was raised in Monticello, Kentucky and has spent a great deal of his life voicing positive change within his community. While at Eastern Kentucky University, Ken was actively involved in student government and was elected Student Government Association (SGA) President and Student Regent on the Board of Regents. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky in 1991 with a degree in political science.

Ken’s first job out of college was in public relations at a local, poultry-breeding facility, Avian Farms. Ken then applied his knack for communications as a field representative for Senator Mitch McConnell in Eastern Kentucky. Ken enjoyed the time he spent traveling around Eastern Kentucky and knew he wanted to make a larger impact in his region. In 1998, he decided to run for the Kentucky House of Representatives, District 52, to challenge the status quo and bring better opportunities to the area.
